Our Story
Speed Dawg LLC was founded in 2005 to produce a unique line of high quality, family oriented clothing geared specifically for racing and hot rodding enthusiasts. Within two years the Speed Dawg clothing line was available at drag strips, dirt tracks and auto racing museums throughout the US and in Canada. In 2007 the first Speed Dawg Shift Knobs were produced and distributed exclusively by Lokar Performance Products. During that time customer demand led to the development of several new styles and colors. In 2010, Speed Dawg was awarded a SEMA Global Media Best New Product Award for introducing the Von Hot Rod Signature Series Pinstriped Shift Knob. That same year Speed Dawg products were showcased in several major automotive publications and featured on premier television broadcasts including Stacey David's GEARZ™. In 2011 Speed Dawg began providing Shift Knobs and Adapter Kits to O'Reilly Auto Parts stores and to the new Speed Network TV show Car Warriors. Speed Dawg received two more SEMA Global Media Best New Product Awards in 2011 and 2013. The following year, Speed Dawg began producing HURST officially licensed shift knobs for the legendary performance company. Also in 2014 Summit Racing and Jegs began carrying the Speed Dawg line of shift knobs. In 2016 Speed Dawg began producing Mopar officially licensed shift knobs. In 2017 the Speed Dawg Shift Knobs logo was incorporated on a premier line of die cast cars distributed through major retailers throughout the US and Canada. Speed Dawg also received two more industry awards at the Sema Show in Las Vegas. In 2018 Speed Dawg developed several new items for the Mopar officially licensed shift knob line which included the 2018 Sema Best New Interior Product Award Winner and another Sema Global Media Award winner. In 2019, Speed Dawg was again recognized with a Sema Award for development of the Jeep JL Shift Knob and Adapters Set. At the 2023 Sema Show Speed Dawg was awarded still another Sema Global Media Best New Product Award. Today Speed Dawg Shift Knobs and accessories are distributed globally. The top professional car builders and race teams are among our vast customer base and our products can be found in all types of vehicles.
From the beginning, a primary objective of Speed Dawg LLC has been the promotion and sponsorship of motorsports. Speed Dawg actively sponsors numerous racing teams and racing series across the United States. In 2005 Speed Dawg sponsored the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle ridden by future multi-time series champion Eddie Krawiec. From 2006 to 2010 Speed Dawg was an associate sponsor of winning Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Karen Stoffer. During that same time period Speed Dawg was the title sponsor of the Central Pennsylvania Sprint Car Point Series awarding multiple championships to both Fred Rahmer and Greg Hodnett. The 2011 season saw the Speed Dawg colors on all of the Nitro Fish NHRA team vehicles including NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion LE Tonglett, US Nationals Champion Greg Stanfield and the Top Fuel Dragster piloted by Steve Chrisman. In 2012 Speed Dawg became an associate sponsor of now 3-time NHRA Pro Stock Champion Jason Line. In 2013 Speed Dawg decals were added to the car driven by Jason's KB Racing teammate and now 5-time series champion Greg Anderson. In 2015 Speed Dawg Shift Knobs also served as a title sponsor on the Pro Stock Camaros driven by European Champion Jimmy Alund and rookie contender Bo Butner. In 2017 Bo Butner carried the Speed Dawg Shift Knobs logo to the NHRA Pro Stock World Championship. Speed Dawg continued associate sponsorship of the KB Racing team Pro Stock Camaros through the 2020 season. In 2021 Speed Dawg became an associate sponsor of 2-time NHRA Funny Car World Champion Cruz Pedregon and the Cruz Pedregon/Snap-On/Dodge Racing Team.
