What adapter thread size do I need for my shifter?
Speed Dawg has made available a Shifter Thread Sizes Chart on the Speed Dawg web site. While this information is provided as a general reference tool, the thread sizes listed on the chart are NOT guaranteed to fit your vehicle. An easy method of determining your shifter thread size is to remove the existing shift knob and take it to a hardware store to see which size bolt will thread into the knob. Another method is to have a technician measure your shifter threads with a thread gauge.
How do I install my shift knob?
Your threaded Speed Dawg shift knob will have installation instructions included within the packaging. Depending upon your application, your instructions will be similar to those listed on the Installation Instructions page on the Speed Dawg web site.
It is important that you follow the instructions carefully and DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN or allow the shift knob to "BOTTOM OUT" on the shifter during installation.
Do I need a boot retainer to install my shift knob?
We do produce boot retainers for use with the 2005-2014 Ford Mustang and the 2010 and newer Chevrolet Camaro. The boot retainer is designed to be used with the factory installed shifters only. If your vehicle has an aftermarket shifter you should check with the shifter manufacturer to determine if a boot retainer is necessary.
